Project SAY WUT (in a good way)

I absolutely, positively, without a doubt love Project WET (anything that lets me play in a creek for science is A-OK in my book).

Project WET - aka What Every Teacher should do.

But in all seriousness, I love the application of real-life issues being brought to the science classroom.  As a learner, it makes science real. As an instructor, you can cover standards, teach the material in a hands on fashion, AND ensure understanding through class discussion as the activities in the Project WET textbook are very hands-on, but information rich. Integration? No problem- Social Studies, Math, ELA, Art - the ways in which I can pull the material across subject areas and related content areas is almost too easy.

When sitting at Ms. Bonnie's kitchen table, I couldn't help but be left with one very prominent impression: knowing the type of kid I was growing up, I would have LOVED to have participated in lessons exactly like what we were discussing. Thinking now, as a future teacher, these are exactly the lessons I would love to be teaching.

All-in-all, I'm ready to make a splash with the Project WET activities in my future classroom (pun very much intended).
